MAGIC SHOT SETUP

  • If you are using the STRIKEPACK ELIMINATOR device, please substitute all references to Paddle with Action Button.

  • To perform ANY of the following moves, you MUST have MAGIC SHOT assigned to a Paddle / Action Button here.

SETUP

FOLLOW EACH STEP ACCORDINGLY TO PROPERLY SETUP MAGIC SHOT:

Step 1: Saved Profiles

MAGIC SHOT allows you to save up to 4 separate timing profiles; 1 to each of the 4 FACE BUTTONS.

The FACE BUTTONS are , , , on PS4, or , , , on XB1.

Step 2: Recording

  • To record a new timing to a profile, WHILE HOLDING the MAGIC SHOT PADDLE, HOLD the FACE BUTTON that you wish to record to until you feel a heavy rumble.

  • The recorded shot will be LATE but the MOD will record the correct timing.

  • To represent the recorded result, you will see Green Lightbar / White LED flashes counting up to every recorded 100ms and Purple Lightbar / Green LED flashes counting up to every recorded 10ms.  Just add them together.

Step 3: Playback

  • To playback a recorded timing, WHILE HOLDING the MAGIC SHOT PADDLE, QUICKLY TAP & RELEASE the FACE BUTTON with the recorded timing that you wish to perform.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE:  The Magic Shot MOD records and plays back your shot timing accurately.  It is the most consistent way to make your 3-point shots.  Unfortunately, the game introduces random variables that prevent every shot from being made even though the timing is accurate for your player, and the player may be completely unobstructed.  This is part of the game design in 2K19.

Step 4: Editing

  • The recording sets a close starting point for you to work with.  You may still have to edit the timing and you will almost definitely have to increase the timing for online play due to the variances there.

  • WHILE HOLDING , TAP the FACE BUTTON that you wish to edit.

  • You will feel a heavy rumble to indicate that you are in Editing Mode and then constant rumble after that.

  • If you are consistently shooting early, you will need to increase the timing.  TAP R2 / RT to increase it by 100ms or TAP R1 / RB to increase it by 10ms.

  • If you are consistently shooting late, you will need to decrease the timing.  TAP L2 / LT to decrease it by 100ms or L1 / LB to decrease it by 10ms.

  • To display your current timing, TAP OR .  You will see Green Lightbar / White LED flashes counting up to every 100ms and Purple Lightbar / Green LED flashes counting up to every 10ms.  Just add them together.

  • When you have finished editing your timing, TAP OR to exit.

  • In MOD Central, you can read back your current timings and you can also make finer adjustments of 1ms if you need to.

Other Conditions

MAGIC SHOT will have varying results when:

  • Your player is covered by the defensive team.  This in-game feature causes your player's shot to become inaccurate.

  • Your player character's shooting attributes are NOT good enough.

  • Playing online, especially with a poor internet connection.  See "Step 4: Editing" above for compensating for online play.
